Alpha
Training Events
From
time to time we run an Alpha on Campus Seminar at the Alpha Training
Events. Currently we are in the process of determining which
Alpha Training Events present the greatest opportunities for the
seminar. Please watch this space for announcements about where
the next Alpha on Campus Seminar will be held. If you would
like more information about running Alpha in the college and university
setting, contact the Alpha on Campus office (512) 477-1068 or write
to us at alphaoncampus@alphausa.org.
We would love to hear from you.
Featured
Course
The
featured course this month is being run at Kansas State University
by Ichthus Campus Fellowship. This is the eighth course run
at KSU and last semester 75 students were on the course. God
has blessed the Alpha Course with a leadership team headed by Ichthus
staff worker Sarah Schultz.
The course has been supported in the most wonderful
way by Christ Church, an Episcopal congregation in Kansas City. The
congregation has sponsored a regional Alpha Conference, runs an
extremely fruitful Alpha Course and has provided prayer and financial
support for the Ichthus team.
Recently Sarah wrote the following about the
Alpha Course and Ichthus ministry at KSU.
"Alpha is changing the current mind set of our Christian students
and has changed my life as well. We used to be more 'program' oriented.
Students spent hours making funny videos for our seeker meetings
and could have gone months without being in relationship with an
unbeliever. Alpha has taken me and the rest of our believing students
from a mentality of 'we have the answers and need to make people
believe' to 'we are learning as well and we would love to invite
people along into that process.'
The focus is no longer on ourselves. We are truly mere facilitators
of what God may want to do. The good news is that He wants to reach
college students. He wants us to rely on Him and trust that there
is power in the gospel and that He will change lives."
We are grateful for
what God is doing through the Alpha Course as it is offered through
Ichthus Christian Fellowship at Kansas State University. |
