Meet the Alpha on Campus Staff 

Dave Short is the newly appointed National Coordinator for Alpha on Campus.  In addition to his Alpha responsibilities, he will also serve as Lead Networker for US Fusion. Fusion began in England and is a cell-based ministry used on college campuses.

Dave is a 21-year veteran campus minister who has pioneered campus groups in Texas and Illinois. He has traveled extensively outside of the United States working with various missions and university ministries.

Dave has served most recently with Chi Alpha, the campus ministry of the Assemblies of God.  His last assignment with Chi Alpha was Campus Director for the state of Illinois.

Dave and His wife Valerie are presently residing in Chicago and have five children, ages 8-22.  We are excited that Dave has been led to join the Alpha team and ask for your prayers as he partners with other campus ministries and introduces the Alpha Course on campuses across the nation.

John Frahm is the former National Coordinator for Alpha on Campus. He has studied Interpersonal and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin and Cross-cultural Communication at Michigan State University. He holds a degree from Concordia Theological Seminary a Lutheran institution affiliated with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Prior to seminary study he taught Interpersonal and Mass Communication at Iowa State University and the University of Kentucky . After graduating from the seminary he served Trinity Lutheran Church (LCMS), Springfield, Illinois. He recently retired from Concordia University in Austin , Texas where he taught Nonverbal and Cross-Cultural Communication and chaired the Department of Communication.

He has served The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as chairman of the Board for Communication Services and as a short-term missionary in Brazil and Venezuela .

John has been involved with the Alpha Course since 1997. Early in 2000, he spent five months at Holy Trinity Brompton in London working beside the team that introduced the Alpha Course on university campuses in the UK .
